COVID-19 UPDATE: UPSers Win Paid Leave Benefits

UPS will pay up to ten days of paid leave to Teamsters who are diagnosed with COVID-19, living with someone with COVID-19, or have been quarantined by a government agency, medical professional or UPS.

UPS management had previously announced that workers affected by the Coronavirus would only be granted unpaid leave.

More than 15,000 Teamsters signed a petition from UPS Teamsters United protesting the company’s failure to provide paid leave or address hazardous unsanitary conditions. We made our voices heard!

Record Profits of $6.5 Billion at UPS

While UPS Teamsters are working under a contract that imposed concessions like two-tier 22.4 drivers, UPS bosses are celebrating record profits. The company announced today it made $1.84 billion in profits during peak alone and $6.5 billion in profits after taxes in 2019.

MEMBERS ELECT REFORMERS TO REBUILD 71

After Voting No against contract givebacks, members have voted out pro-Hoffa officers in Charlotte Local 71.  Members elected TDU activist Willie Ford and the Rebuild 71 Slate to lead their local. Ford beat the incumbent president by 757 to 286.
